Abstract

956,172. Cartons. JOHN WADDINGTON Ltd. Feb. 28, 1963 [Feb. 6, 1962], No. 4477/62. Heading B8P. A tubular carton has a pair of diagonally opposite extensions 10 and 11 at its mouth end adapted to be folded inwardly to engage and provide a handle. The extension 10 has a semi-circular aperture 12 cut therein and the extension 11 has a central tab 13, both extentions are slotted at 16 and 17, and curved slots 18 and 19 are cut in the body of the carton. When pressure is applied to score lines which join the curved slots to the inner ends of the slots 16 and 17, the extensions are disposed across the top of the carton and the tab 13 is made to engage the aperture 12. The bottom end may be closed in the manner set forth in Specification 956,171, and the tab 13 may be adhered or sealed in position.
