Abstract

649,414. Cartons. ROBINSON, Ltd., E. S. & A., ROBINSON, P. N., and BOND, R. H. Oct. 6, 1948, No. 26071. [Class 18] A side panel 2 of a tubular carton has two hinged cut-out portions 12 which fold inwardly to engage the opposite panel 4. The portions 12 may have extensions stapled together and lying against the panel 4 and engaged by a tongue 23 therein. In an alternative form the portions 12 lie in a plane at right angles to that shown and their extensions may thus be stapled to the panel 4 without interfering with the collapsability of the tube. The carton may have a shell or lid. In a further embodiment the extension of each portion 12 may be engaged by a separate tongue in the panel 4.
