952,756. Ceiling panels; ceilings. BOWATER RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CO. Ltd. Nov. 6, 1961 [Nov. 16, 1960], No. 39403/60. Headings E1B and E1V. A wall or ceiling panel comprises a rectangular metal frame 4 having projecting flanges 3 and is closed by a sheet 5 of metal, wood, board, or plastics which is attached to supporting flanges 2 by bonding, welding, or releasably by clips. A bricking slab or slabs 7 of mineral wool may rest in the panel or may be retained by a sheet of kraft paper secured to the metal frame. The sheet 5, which may be perforated, of expanded metal, or freed with plastics, may be separated from the backing 7 by a layer of P.V.C. having smaller perforations. The panels may contain heating elements and are supported by screwing to a wall, ceiling, or framework of battens, or may be suspended on a lattice of U-sectioned beams the edges of the flanges of each beam being inturned. Various clips then engage with the inturned edges to secure panels to beams and the beams to each other and to hangers.
