Abstract

1,210,497. Suspended ceilings and like wall cladding. R.G.S. PTY. Ltd. 31 Oct., 1967 [28 Nov., 1966], No. 53177/66. Heading E1W. A fixing strip 7 for use in cladding ceilings or walls is of generally triangular cross-section with a base wall having a central opening defined by equally and oppositely inclined re-entrant sections 9, a clip 31 for supporting a cladding member being received and retained in resilient stressed engagement between the apex of the triangular section and the re-entrant sections 9. The clip 31 extends through the opening and may be attached directly to cladding material, but preferably has a notch 32 which supports a spline (3, 25), which through a flange on one side and clips 4, Fig. 1, on the other side support panels by engagement in grooved edges thereof. The fixing strips 7 are engaged by clips 13 of suspension devices 2 attached to suspension means.
