Abstract

945,971. Ceiling panels; suspended ceilings. ANDERSON CONSTRUCTION CO. Ltd., J. NAPIER-FENNING, and K. T. REED. Feb. 9, 1960 [Feb. 17, 1959], No. 5487/59. Headings E1B and E1V. A flanged rectangular metal ceiling tile having apertures in its base is formed on the two longer edges with interfitting formations 4, Fig. 3, the other flanged edges being plane, and in a ceiling is supported on T- and N- sectional members 9, 8, or in an embodiment solely on U-sectioned members. Clips 11, and angle brackets or cleats 16 hold the tiles to the support members. A cover piece 17 and a partition 21 are fitted into the U-members and plasterboard 22 between the ceiling and soffit reduces the transmission of sound. Sound absorbing material is fitted into the tray of each tile.
