Abstract

1,037,172. Suspended ceilings; stud and socket fastenings; clips. PHOENIX TIMBER CO. Ltd. Sept. 5, 1962 [Sept. 12, 1961], No. 32744/61. Headings E1V and E2B. Rectangular hardboard panels 11, forming a false ceiling, are clipped into apertures 10, 9 formed respectively in the flanges of inverted T-sectioned bearer members 4 and support members 5. Apertured plates 16 which may be of fibrous or plastic material and stapled to the panels, or of metal provided with a serrated or spiked edges for attachment to the panels, contain metal spring clips 12 in their apertures for attachment to the bearer or support members. The flanges 7 of the support members 5 may be curtailed adjacent the bearer members flanges, with the webs 6 continuing over said latter flanges, as shown, or they may run under said latter flanges, which are received in slots in said webs 6.
