Abstract

912,611. Panel fixing means. LIGHT STEEL SECTIONAL CONSTRUCTIONS Ltd. July 2, 1959 [April 2, 1958], No. 10593/58. Class 20 (4). Means for fixing panels to metal frame members 5 or grounds in the construction of panels, ceilings, walls, partitions &c., comprises a flat substantially rectangular plate 1 which, at a pair of diagonally opposed end portions of a pair of opposite edges, is provided with tongues 3 spaced from the surface on one side of the plate and projecting towards a plane normal to the plate and passing through a centre line of said plate parallel to said opposite edges, which plate is provided with panel engaging means 6, 7 spaced from the surface on the other side of said plate and projecting away from said plane. The panel engaging means 6, 7 may be in the form of prongs to penetrate the edges of the panels, or may be in the form of clips to overlie the outer surface of the panels. Projections 4 formed in the plate 1 opposite each tongue 3 serve to lock the plate in position over the edges of the frame member 5. Specifications 783,403, 835,951 and 835,952 are referred to.
