Abstract

1433412 Suspending ceiling panels ARMSTRONG CORK CO 12 April 1973 [12 April 1972] 17597/73 Heading E1W Ceiling panels 32 are suspended from joists by means of U-shaped clips 2, the resilient sides of which engage the sides 22, 24 of the joists and whose lower end is provided with a formation, e.g. the slots 10, into which is detachably engaged one edge of a ceiling runner 16. The ceiling runner 16 has a formation 26 on its lower end for engaging in a horizontal slot 28 in the edge of a panel 32. The formation may be a single lateral flange 26 or two appositely directed flanges lying in the same plane may be provided to engage edge grooves in adjacent panels. Pointed tangs 8 may be struck out from the sides of the clip to grip the joist and a nail hole 12 may be provided. A spring tab 14 struck up from the base of the U- shaped clip clamps the flange 18 of the runner 16 against the underside of the joist.
