A suspended ceiling consisting of panels 7, 8 of heat- and sound-insulating, fire resistant material such as mineral or glass wool are connected to-gether at their edges by a bonding agent 9 into which supporting strips 6 suspended from hangers 3, project. The lower surface of the boards may be painted, sprayed, coated or covered with thin foils or plates of fire-insulating material such as vermiculite. For modifications involving a ridged roof, reinforcing, construction of strips and other minor details, Fig. 2 (not shown) and the Specification should be referred to.
