Abstract

950,646. Electric terminals. CONTROLLED HEATING UNITS (LONDON) Ltd., J. F. MACANDREW, and B. B. STORK. Aug. 20, 1962 [Aug. 18, 1961], No. 29935/61. Heading H2E. [Also in Division H5] A terminal tag 6 is formed by deforming the end of a tubular conductor 5 into which the end of a resistance wire 2 or other circuit element is inserted. The end of resistance wire 2 is crimped into tube 5, and the deformed part 6 may be sealed by dipping in hot tin. The assembly of resistance wire 2 embedded in insulation 3 in tubular metal sheath 1 brazed or otherwise secured to base 4 forms a heating element with a tag 6 at each end, e.g. for an immersion heater.
