Abstract
851,316. Electric heating resistances. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. May 26, 1959 [June 30, 1958], No. 20863/58. Drawings to Specification. Class 39(3). An electric heating element comprising a wire contained within a metallic sheath filled with a refractory insulating material is subjected during manufacture to a greater degree of drawing and/or swaging at points along its length than at the remainders in order to provide different specific electric loadings at such points. In an application to an electric kettle, a length of element having a higher specific electric loading is solidly attached to the terminal head to facilitate instant actuation of the cut-out on over-heating of the element.
