820,623. Fixed resistors. BRITISH TELECOMMUNICATIONS RESEARCH Ltd. Aug. 14, 1956 [Sept. 30, 1955], No. 27958/55. Drawings to Specification. Class 37. A resistor comprising a simple coil of wire of highly resistive material, has within it a body of material of low resistivity forming a shortcircuited turn coupled to the coil so as to reduce the self-inductance and hence the time-constant of the coil. The body may be a rod, tube, or flat strip of copper or a rod or tube of insulating material coated with low resistivity material by a process such as electroplating. The wire is insulated from the body by a material such as empire tape and the coil may be surrounded by a sheath of low resistivity material.
