Abstract
942,077. Vapour burners. E. SACCO. Dec. 20, 1960 [Jan. 20, 1960], No. 43785/60. Heading F4T. A vapour burner comprises a liquid fuel conduit 21 surrounded by a tube 14 of refractory material on which is wound an electric resistance 26, 26<SP>1</SP> for vaporizing the fuel and an outer air conduit 10 delivering air over the electric resistance to tangential channels 32 in a mixing chamber 22. The latter is clamped by a cap nut 11 to a sleeve 30 which is screwed into the end of the air conduit 10 until an inner opening on the mixing chamber seats on the frustoconical surface of a nozzle 31 on the end of the liquid fuel conduit 21. The discharge aperture in the nozzle is controlled by a needle 15. The mixture is discharged through a central bore 19 in the wall of the mixing chamber. The electric resistance is wound on a double helical groove in the refractory tube 14.
