Abstract

941,711. Air guns. BIRMINGHAM SMALL ARMS CO. Ltd. May 17, 1960 [May 19, 1959], No. 16881/59. Heading F3C. In a drop-down air gun having the barrel 2 hinged at 3 between forks projecting from the body 1 of the gun, the bore of the barrel is located correctly with respect to the air passage 5 by means of a pin 6 mounted between the forks and engaging a recess 7 formed in the underside of the barrel. A spring-urged plunger 9 is mounted in a housing 10 below the rear end of the barrel and has an upper inclined surface engaging the pin 6 so that the spring 11 urges the barrel into the firing position. The pivot pin 3 engages in a recess 12 of the plunger 9 to retain it in the housing 10.
