Abstract
986,102. Trigger mountings. BIRMINGHAM SMALL ARMS CO. Ltd. July 28, 1961 [May 11, 1960], No. 16551/60. Heading F3C. A trigger 6, Fig. 1, of U-shaped section is mounted in the cylinder 1 of an air rifle by means of trigger parts 9, 10 which engage above forward and rear edges 4, 5 of a rectangular aperture 3, Fig. 2, in the cylinder 1 and by trigger recesses 11 which engage and permit the trigger to pivot around the edges 4, a spring 15, Fig. 1, at 22, Fig. 5, retaining the trigger in engagement with the edges 4 and in its normal forward position. The aperture 3 forms part of a slot 2, Fig. 2, which slidably receives the end of a cocking lever (not shown). The slot 2 extends to the near end of the cylinder 1 thus permitting the ready insertion and removal of the trigger and its spring, since no pivot pin is involved. The limbs of the U-section trigger are pressed together to form a bent 13 for engaging the rear part 14 of a spring-loaded piston mounted in the cylinder.
