Abstract

1,113,345. Charger guides; cartridge clips. SECRETARY OF STATE FOR DEFENCE. 9 Nov., 1966 [10 Nov., 1965], No. 47668/65. Headings F3A and F3C. A charger guide 1 for a bolt operated, small arms weapon is converted to fit a smaller size of cartridge clip 6 by providing in the recess 3 of the charger guide 1 a liner 5. The liner is secured in the recess 3 by a rivet 7, the head 8 of which projects inwardly of the recess such that it co-operates with the forward edge of the cartridge clip 6 to prevent the clip from falling forwardly out of the charger guide. The head 8 also provides a pivot about which the clip 6 is urged when the bolt 14 and extractor 15 assembly of the firearm is actuated, the pivoting also taking place about the longitudinal axis of the clip to free and facilitate the ejection of the clip from the charger guide. A further pivoting projection 12 is provided on the liner 5. The stages of the ejection of the clip are disclosed with reference to the Figs. 2 to 4 and 2a to 4a (not shown).
