986,827. Flare projectors. HELICOPTER SALES Ltd. May 6, 1963 [May 29, 1962], No. 20592/62. Heading F3A. A flare projector, which may be housed in the cartridge container described in Specification 986,828 comprises a barrel 1 housing a spring-stressed firing pin 2, the barrel being internally threaded at its forward end to engage a screw-threaded boss 4 at the rear end of the flare C. The spring 6, which surrounds a guide 9 having an extension 11, extends into a plug 5 closing the rear of the projector. A bolt 8 has a shank 12 extending through the pin 2 and extension 11. By sliding the bolt along a slot 7, the spring 6 is stressed in readiness to drive the pin 2 against the flare C.
