939,684. Egg Cartons. KOBOX Ltd. Jan. 4, 1960 [Jan. 15, 1959], No. 1525/59. Class 18. An egg carton having upper and lower inset closure panels 113, 82 with apertures 132 through which the eggs project, has an internal transverse reinforcement constituted by folded central portions 115, 116 of one of the closure panels. The body of the carton is formed from a single blank with side panels 84, 85 and end panels 98, 104 the side panels having apertures 134. The reinforcement 115, 116 is formed in a separate cover panel, Fig. 6, with flaps 120-123 secured to the side panels. Strengthening ribs 96 are provided at the ends of the carton. A transparent plastic sheath may enclose the filled carton.
