Abstract

890,968. Boxes. KNAPP. R. June 27, 1960 [June 30, 1959], No. 22347/59. Class 18. A collapsible cardboard box having cells, for eggs &c. formed by parallel transverse slits 12, terminal slits 13 and hinge lines 18 is made from a single blank bent to form a rectangular tube. Each cell is prepared by bending inwardly the grips 11 about the hinge lines 18, tabs 8 thereby being formed on the side walls. The grips 11 also hinge about slits 14, straps 9 being formed by having two such slits for each cell ; alternatively each pair of adjacent slits 14 may be replaced by a single hinge line separating one cell from another. A flap 15 may be provided for price-marking &c. and feet may be attached to protect the contents when placing the box on a hard surface.
