Abstract

939,631. Buckles. G. E. Y. HOLMBERG. Nov. 24, 1961 [Dec. 15, 1960], No. 42174/61. Class 43. [Also in Group XXV] In a locking tongue 10 for buckles of the separable coupling type and having a slot 12 and a bar 13 which extends along the slot, and which is movable in its transverse direction along the locking tongue and is formed by a flat slide 15 disposed on one side of the locking tongue, the slot serving to receive a strap passed around the bar, a rail 16 is disposed on the side of the slide facing away from the locking tongue and the end portions of the rail are formed into a pair of facing hooks 21 located at the ends of the bar on the side of the slide facing away from the looking tongue, which hooks are adapted to receive the marginal portions of the strap passed around the bar and the rail is retained on the slide by means of bent edges 19, 20 of the one part embracing the other and forming the longitudinal edge surfaces of the bar. As shown, the slide is mounted on the tongue by a rivet which extends through a slot 18 in the tongue. In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown), the bent over-portions are formed on the rail. In another embodiment, Fig. 5 (not shown), the slot at the insertion end of the tongue is curved towards the bar.
