Abstract
938,265. Heating by circulation of liquids. PRESSURE SYSTEMS Ltd. Oct. 4, 1961 [Oct. 11, 1960], No. 34739/60. Class 64 (2). A heating system having a pressurized load circuit includes a primary circuit in which the heating liquid is heated, a secondary distribution circuit for the heated liquid, a mixer device M between the primary and secondary circuits through which the secondary circuit takes liquid from, and returns liquid to, the primary circuit, means T sensitive to the temperature of primary circuit liquid leaving the mixer device M and controlling, e.g. by a valve V, the secondary circuit flow rate so as to maintain the primary circuit liquid temperature at a predetermined level, and modulating control valve means MCV in the secondary circuit adapted to maintain substantially constant a predetermined secondary circuit temperature differential. As shown, the primary circuit contains boilers B1, B2 ... connected in parallel, each boiler having a circulation pump PB1, PB2 ... while the secondary circuit includes heat loads L1, L2 . . . connected in parallel and each having a circulation pump PL1, PL2 ... Each load circuit is provided with a valve V1, V2 ... at the outlet end, controlled by a thermostat (not shown), to maintain a predetermined exit temperature for the circuit. The valves V1, V2 ... are provided with by-pass valves or orifices which allow a minimum circulation when the main valves V1, V2 are fully closed. The primary and secondary circuits join in the mixer unit M, which may be a tubular arrangement, as shown, or a specially designed chamber.
