A liquid circulating system, particularly for space heating, comprises an oil-burning stove which heats the liquid circulating through space or like heating elements placed in a circuit which forms at least two loops, and a control device placed on the circuit which allows only one loop to be used at once. Heated liquid (normally water) either passes through the loop containing the heating elements 13 and 16 or, depending on the three-way stopcock 3, through the elements 14, 15 and 16. A thermostat 12 controls the fuel supply of stove 1. The liquid ducts are flexible rubber hoses the exterior of which may be painted. The heating elements consist of heat-conducting discs surrounding the ducts. In Fig. 3 (not shown), a flow resistance is placed on the circuit near a heating element so that a desired amount of liquid is passed through the heating element. A cross-section through the stove 13, shown in Fig. 7, in which the flue gases are passed through the openings 26 and 27 to the circulation space 28. The liquid is heated in an L-shaped vessel with a top part 30 and skirt part 31 and this vessel is separated from the fire space 25 by a double wall.
