In a central heating system employing water heated by a gas-fired heater, an expansion chamber of the system has mounted thereon the gas-fired heater together with at least a circulating pump, and gas and water control instruments. In the form shown, the gas heater 2 is mounted on the upper part of the expansion chamber 1. A circulating water pump 3, a system shut-off cock 4, a regulator 5, a thermometer 6, and a manometer 7 with the necessary connections all arranged below the heater 2 on said chamber. Additional water-heating coils may be inserted in the expansion chamber for the heating of additional water flowing through them.
