Abstract

929,284. Feeding sheets. ROSE BROS. (GAINSBOROUGH) Ltd. March 3, 1960 [March 6, 1959], No. 7839/59. Class 100 (1). [Also in Group XVII] In packaging apparatus (see Group XVII) the bottom, corrugated liner sheet 11 of a stack is deflected by a suction member 19 so that a gripper device 13 mounted on a carriage 14 slidable on a bar 17 can withdraw it. The upper jaw 22 of the device 13 is pivoted at 23 and has an arm 24 carrying a roller 26 spring- urged towards a vertically reciprocable track 27, the jaw 22 opening during the approach of the carriage 14 to the stack and closing during the retraction thereof. The device 13 positions each sheet 11 over an aperture 32 in a platform 31.
