Abstract

1,141,934. Feeding sheets. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORP. 9 March, 1967 [14 March, 1966], No. 11046/67. Heading B6B. The top sheet of a stack 31, Figs. 1 and 2, is separated by a suction device comprising a plurality of mouths 3 and feet 4 mounted on an arm 15 of a linkage comprising arms 14, 15, 16 so as to move in a cycloidal path through positions 1a, 1b 1c, 1d. In the position 1c the sheet is delivered to a suction band 35 and the suction of the suction device is released by a valve 8 controlled by an end 27 of the arm 14, which is pivoted at 18, the arm 16 being pivoted at 20. The suction device then retracts its path to 1a under control of a cam 24. A second suction device 45 with a lesser degree of suction is mounted on a second linkage 49, 50, 51 and moves from position 45a to 45b to engage a second sheet 60 which may have been separated to hold it until the first suction device returns to 1b
