Abstract

1,094,289. Feeding sheets. WARD DIE-VISE CO. April 26, 1966 [Jan. 12, 1966], No. 18257/66. Heading B8S. Sheets S from a stack P are discharged from the bottom thereof by feed bar 16 operated by linkage 18, 20, and the bottom sheet is held flat to facilitate the discharge by a device 36 at its rear and device 26 at its front end. The device 36, Fig. 5.-As feed bar 16 reciprocates cams 30 thereon operate to oscillate shaft 40 which carries resiliently arm 56 so that the point 58 carried resiliently at 60 by arm 56 moves downwards into the side of the stack and presses the bottom sheet against fixed shoe 62 to position the rear end of the sheet. Device 26, Fig. 8.-The throat of the magazine is defined by adjustable gate 72 and threshold plate 74. In addition two fingers 70 are provided which are moved downwards by fluid cylinder 76, the gears 66, 68 ensuring that both fingers move in unison. The cylinder moves between limit stops 78, 80. The two fingers 70 are urged downwards by the cylinder 76 into engagement with the side front of the stack and hold it positioned for discharge despite warping of the sheets.
