Abstract

912,199. Feeding sheets. NEVINS CO. Aug. 18, 1960 [Nov. 16, 1959], No. 28630/60 Class 100 (1). [Also in Group XVII] In a packaging machine, a blank feeding station 22 has a table surface 62 on which the blanks 26 are disposed in sloping, co-engaging positions. Secured to table surface 62 is a stepped platform 65. Leaf-spring peelers 69 and 70 engage the blanks to effect a positioning of the blanks on portions 66, 67 of platform 65, and also to strip them (components) from suction-cup type lifters 72, 73 respectively, which are carried by piston and cylinder assemblages 75, 76 mounted on spindles 78, 79. The assemblages are linked for simultaneous movement by a bell-crank and linkage system 80, shown dotted through rods 82, 83 to cam 84. Each blank 26 is picked-up from platform 67 by a holder 24 which has angleshaped members 89 for engaging corner portions of the blank.
