925,271. Conduits formed from ship's structure. KONINKLIJKE MAATSCHAPPIJ DE SCHELDE N. V. Aug. 22, 1961 [Aug. 22, 1960], No. 30314/61. Class 113. Conduits for filling and emptying a ship's tanks are formed from parts of the structure of a ship. The tanks are defined by bulkheads 4 and 5 to which channel-sectioned strength members 8, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, may be secured to form conduits. Other conduits are formed by channel members 9 and 10 joined to a girder 6. Valved branches 16, 17 connect the tanks to the lower conduits and thus to a pumping chamber (not shown) which the upper conduits connect to quay connections 18. The Specification also describes conduits formed using ribbed bulkheads. A direct connection for gravity filling is shown between the conduits 11, 14.
