897,861. Flexible barges. DRACONE DEVELOPMENTS Ltd. Jan. 12, 1959 [Jan. 17, 1958], No. 1698/58. Class 113. A collapsible barge for transporting liquid or other flowable cargo comprises a flexible envelope provided with an inflatable sheath around the bow and/or stern. The envelope has a cylindrical amidships portion 1 and conically shaped bow and stern portions 2, 3 surrounded by sheaths 4, 5 in the form of flexible water jackets of proofed nylon. The bow portion 2 of the envelope and its sheath 4 are connected by an anchorage member 8 with a passage 15 for admitting water to the sheath. A tow rope is attached to extensions of the envelope or to a tow bar 13. The stern portion 3 has a flexible filling and emptying pipe 16 projecting from a terminal ring 17 and accommodated in the sheath 5 to which water may be admitted by a conduit 19.
