Abstract

975,829. Life saving vessels. SCHIFFSWERFT RECHLIN VEB. June 5, 1961, No. 20194/61. Heading B7A. A life-saving vessel of buoy form, the hull of which consists of two superposed truncated cones 1, 2, the bases of which face one another, has a self-flooding chamber 15 having a lower flat inverted conical portion 7 and an upwardly tapering upper conical portion 17. The bases of the cones are connected to an annular tube 3. Cylinders 8, 9 in the cones define therewith annular air-tight chambers divided into cells 12, 13 by bulkheads 10, 11. A reinforcing tube 20 having holes 21, 19 for ventilating the interior of the vessel and the flooding chamber 15 respectively extends from the bottom of the vessel to above a deck closing the upper end of the upper cone.
