579,323. Collapsable boats. R.F.D. CO., Ltd., and WILLIAMS, P. W. L. Sept. 28,1942, No. 13597. [Class 113 (ii)] The tubular structure 10 constituting the gunwale of an inflatable dinghy is subdivided into several compartments A, B, C, D by flexible diaphragms 12, 13, 14, 15 which are of extra width so as to crumple when all the compartments are inflated, but to belly-out and fill, wholly or partly, a punctured compartment. Each compartment has a valve 16 and the compartments may be arranged spirally so that each valve 16 is above the water line.
