Abstract
804,207. Pontoon rafts. STOREY (ENGINEERS) Ltd., T. March 22, 1957 [March 28, 1956], No. 9638/56. Class 113. [Also in Group XXI] Buoyant pontoon sections 10 are connected together by hooks 22, 23 provided on the lower part of the sections and upper lugs 26, 27 held in engagement by pins 28 as shown in Fig. 4. The hooks and lugs are arranged so that the buoyant sections can be rigidly connected in side-by-side, end-to-end, or side-to-end relationship. Non- buoyant sections e.g. 41 may connect the buoyant sections in mutually spaced relationship, the upper surfaces of the non-buoyant sections having clamping plates 45 to receive transom beams to support decking. The buoyant sections may be sub-divided into three tanks with hatches 21 and non-return valves to permit trimming. Gunwales 31 to accommodate saddles for attachment of superstructure elements and buoyant bow sections 11 may also be provided.
