Abstract

678,259. Tank vessels. SHELL REFINING & MARKETING CO., Ltd. March 14, 1951, No 6141/51. Class 113 (ii). The cargo tanks are divided into two main groups 1-5, and 6-11, each group being served by a pair of longitudinal pipes 16, 17 and 18, 19 respectively. The pipes have cross-connections 1p, 2p &c. at each tank, each provided with valves and valved tank connections so that each tank can be connected to any of four pumps in the pump room 13 adjacent the engine room 12. Connections are also provided to four separate overboard discharges and to sea water inlets. Bye-passes are also fitted to each pump. Two extra pumps are fitted to strip the residue from the tanks.
