Sounding-pipes, arrangement of.-The ventilating chamber A of a ship's tank is provided with a tubular sounding connection G, having its lower end arranged in line with the ventilating pipe attached to the opening a<2> of the chamber A so that the said ventilating pipe may be used as a sounding tube. A plug g' of the kind described in Specification 254,017 may be fitted at the upper end of the tube G.
