Abstract

924,335. Air-blast switches. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA A.B. Sept. 5, 1961 [Sept. 6, 19601, No. 31813/61. Class 38 (5). In an air-blast switch of the kind having contacts 12, 13 disposed in a compressed-air container 11 and opened by the pressure in the container when a blast-valve 20 is opened on the application of " operating " compressed air to its operating piston 23, the moving contact 13 is positively latched in the open position so that it remains open when the valve automatically recloses to shut off the air blast. The latch comprises levers 31, 32 carrying rollers 29, 30 which are biased into latching engagement with a reduced part 27 of a rod 26 extending from the contact 13. The biasing force is derived from the pressure of the operating air acting on a piston 37, so that when the operating air supply to a pipe 40 is shut off, a spring 19 is able to reclose the contacts.
