Abstract
924,140. Fuel elements. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Oct. 20, 1959 [Oct. 21, 1958], No. 33542/58. Class 39 (4). The nuclear reactor fuel element 10 is fitted with longitudinal guide vanes 11 and fins 12 held together by straps 14. The mixer vanes 16 are formed integrally with the straps and are inclined to leave a gap between the trailing edge and the can surface so as to promote heat exchange between the fuel element and the coolant stream.
