Abstract
856,740. Nuclear fuel elements. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Aug. 28, 1957 [Sept. 5, 1956], No. 27242/56. Class 39(4). The can 10 for a fuel element is provided with both helical and longitudinal fins 11, 12 respectively on its outer surface. The longitudinal fins which project radially beyond the helical fins may be used to locate the can in the fuel channel and may be linear or have a slight helical shape extending in either the same or opposite direction to that of the helical fins.
