Abstract

A petroleum distillate fuel boiling in the range from 250 DEG F. to 750 DEG F. has incorporated therein as pour-point depressant up to 2% by weight of an oil-soluble copolymer of ethylene with vinyl benzoate having a molecular weight from 800 to 1400. The copolymer preferably contains 7-12 mol. per cent of vinyl benzoate. In the examples the fuel used is a mixture of equal parts by weight of straight run and catalytically cracked gas oils.
