Abstract

A gasoline having an Octane number (research) of at least 100 with 1.5 ml. TEL/I.G. is obtained by thermally reforming a blend of the lower boiling fraction of a platinum reformate, such fraction being 40 to 60 per cent by weight of the reformate, with a heavy catalytically cracked gasoline having an initial boiling point between 80 DEG and 120 DEG C. Preferred conditions are 1,000-1,200 DEG F., and 200-1,200 p.s.i.g. to effect a conversion of up to 25 per cent by weight of the feedstock to C3 and lighter. Specification 811,919, [Group III], is referred to.
