Abstract
A petroleum fuel composition boiling in the range from 70 DEG to 750 DEG F. contains as pour point depressant not more than 0,1 weight per cent of an acylated polystyrene having a cryoscopic molecular weight corresponding to from 3 to 20 acylated styrene monomer units, in which the acyl groups are straight chain aliphatic groups containing from 8-16 carbon atoms and having a Composition Index of at least 75. The term Composition Index is defined. Fuels exemplified are gasolines, aviation turbo-jet fuels, and diesel fuels. Specifications 608,665 and 701,706 are referred to.
