Abstract
An hydrocarbon fuel oil composition contains two or more sulphonates of metals of Group IV of the Periodic Table, each present in proportions of from 0.05 to 1 mg. atom of metal per Kg. of fuel oil. The sulphonates are salts of petroleum sulphonic acids or alkyl aromatic sulphonic acids, having molecular weights above 400. In examples, tin and lead petroleum sulphonates are added to gas oil. Other fuel oils mentioned are diesel oil and furnace oil.
