1,237,292. Lubricant base oil composition. INSTITUT FRANCAIS DU PETROLE DES CARBURANTS ET LUBRIFIANTS. 13 Feb., 1969 [14 Feb., 1968], No. 45632/70. Divided out of 1,237,291. Heading C5F. A lubricant base oil composition comprises by-weight: (a) 80-99À5% of an oil obtained by the oligomerization of C 7 -C 20 α-olefins the oil having a MW of 350-2500 and (b) 0À5 to 20% of a petroleum vacuum distillate, a deasphalted vacuum residue, an aromatic extract of either of these, other conventional base oils or a mixture thereof. The composition may also include a hydrorefined oil. Examples describe compositions comprising an oligomerization oil of C 11 -C 14 α-olefins with (I) a bright stock and (II) with an aromatic extract of a vacuum distillate and a hydrorefined oil.
