Abstract

921,401. Gravity discharge of articles. ADMOS Inc. July 17, 1961 [July 18, 1960], No. 25743/60. Class 78 (1). Articles 12 are released one by one from rollerway 10 to fall on to belt 14, by means of pivoted frame 16. Frame 16 carries roller 17, roller 18 and a skew roller 26. One of the rollers 17, 18 is normally held as in Fig. 1 in the grip between lever 46 and stop 38. Lever 46 is a bell-crank pivoted at 44 to stop 38, and influenced at 42 by piston 41 of solenoid 40. Stop 38 is pivoted at 35 and is pressed at 54 by the piston 41. Operation of discharge.-The operator operates solenoid 40, the piston 41 of which moves leftwards to swing lever 46 anti-clockwise. At the same time, piston 41 is removed from stop 38 which is therefore able to pivot clockwise. As a result, roller 18 is released and article 12 slides forward to the right causing the frame to rotate clockwise. The article 12 then moves further forward sliding over the frame as shown in Fig. 2 and being diverted by the askewpositioned roller 26 so that the lateral movement of the article frees it from the next article. The frame continues to move till roller 18 is positioned to check the next article 64. Roller 17 is then positioned between lever 46 and stop 38 which are ready to grip the roller.
