Abstract
954,972. Discharging articles from conveyers. J. COLLIS & SONS Ltd. March 24, 1961 [March 3, 1960], No. 7581/60. Heading B8A. So that an article 3 may be easily pushed from fingers 1, which intercalate with similar fingers on a conveyer (not shown), to remove articles therefrom, the gaps between the fingers are closed, when the fingers are clear of the conveyer, to form a substantially continuous surface. The fingers 1 are reciprocated longitudinally in a horizontal plane to remove the article 3 from a conveyer, particularly one of the type described in Specification 954,971. When the fingers 1 are clear of the conveyer, filling pieces 7, supported by a frame 8, are automatically raised by hydraulic or pneumatic rams 9 and a pusher 5 moves the article on to a table or further conveyer 6. Alternatively the filling pieces 7 may be continuously urged upwardly and be depressed automatically when the fingers 1 are extended into taking position.
