789,590. Endless-chain conveyers. SCHMERMUND, A., [trading as MASCHINENFABRIK A. SCHMERMUND]. Sept. 10, 1956, No. 27604/56. Class 78 (1). In a conveyer of the pusher type for moving articles through a packing or wrapping machine, each pusher 1 is pivoted to the chains 17 and is formed with a slot 9 which, near the end of the working run, is engaged by a bar 10 actuated by a cam 21 in such a manner that the pusher is turned away from the article. Each pusher is fast on a shaft 2 which is rotatably mounted in blocks 3 secured to the chains. Each block is connected rigidly to a slide 16 which is movable in guides 24. Guide members 7, 9 are fast also on the shaft. The end of the member 7 slides on a fixed guide-rail 15 and the member 9 normally rests on the slide 16. The slot 9<SP>1</SP> is formed in the member 9 and the bar 10 is mounted at the end of the arm 11 of a lever 19 which is pivoted at 8. A roller 20 on the arm 19 engages the cam 21 which is fast on the shaft of the chain-wheel 6 or on a shaft parallel thereto. Each pusher is turned back into operative position by cam means.
