Abstract

994,456. Storing containers on a rollerway conveyer. BRITISH BOOT SHOE & ALLIED TRADES RESEARCH ASSOCIATION. June 13, 1961 [June 13, 1960], No. 20701/60. Heading B8A. Containers 10 roll down rollerway 1 on rollers 2 mounted thereon, and are transferred to rollerway 5 by means of switch 7, and rest on rollerway 5 against stop bar 19 ready for discharge. Switch 7 carries rollers and is pivoted at 8 and counterweighted at 9 and its movement is controlled by dash-pot 20. Two stops 15 and 16 control the movement of a container moving from rollerway 1 on to switch 7. Operation.-When a container is discharged at 19 the containers on rollerway 5 move down the rollerway and the container resting on switch 7 also moves down to release the switch which under the bias of counterweight 9 pivots upwards and as it does so engages stop 15 to rotate it counterclockwise. This releases the container held by stop 15 and this container moves on to switch 7 and causes it to pivot downwards into the position shown. At the same time stop 16 is released, i.e. by the last container which lies on arm 18 of the stop, and pivots anti-clockwise to release a container which moves into the position shown held by stop 15.
