Abstract

903,844. Weighing apparatus. AVERY Ltd., W. & T. April 19, 1960 [April 18, 1959], No. 13284/59. Class 143. In an automatic feed weigher in which a lever 1 is accelerated into a bulk feed cut-off position by biasing means 6 and subsequently moves unbiased thereby into a dribble feed cut-off position, premature overshoot of the first position is prevented by a horizontally movable member 10 which normally extends across the path of movement of the lever 1 to prevent movement thereof into the second position, but is retracted when the bulk feed has terminated. As shown, micro-switches 8 and 9 operate the bulk and dribble feed cutoffs respectively, and the former switch also operates a valve 16 to divert air pressure from a line 15 to a line 14 and so operate pneumatic thrustor 13 to retract the member 10 at a predetermined rate controlled by an adjustable valve 18. The pneumatic system shown may however be replaced by a direct solenoidoperated linkage.
