805,806. Shearing. EUMUCO AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT FUR MASCHINENBAU. Dec. 5, 1956 [Dec. 5, 1955]. No. 37184/56. Class 83 (4). A stop for limiting the feed of a workpiece 3 in a shearing-machine is formed by one end 10 of a lever 4 pivoted to a lever 5 carried on a fixed pivot 6, the lever 4 being supported on a displaceable pivot so as to be axially and angularly movable out of the work engaging position. A compressed air actuated piston 7 acting against a spring 8 tilts the lever 5 to displace the stop. The pivot of the lever 4 is supported on a resiliently mounted bracket 9, which yields if a sheared piece jams between the moving blade 2 and the lever 4. Engagement of the work with the insulated end 10 of the lever 4 closes an electric circuit to operate the machine.
