772,933. Shearing. VICKERS - ARMSTRONGS (ENGINEERS), Ltd. Sept. 16, 1955, No. 26570/55. Class 83 (4). A severing-machine for wire has a cup-shaped cutter 10 with a peripheral cutting-edge which co-operates with and embraces an anvil 13. The wire 18 passes through a hole in the anvil 13 and the rear portion 10b of the cutter 10 is cut away so as not to foul the wire 18. The cutter 10 is carried on a pivoted arm 7a which is actuated against the force of a spring 12 by a slide 5 reciprocated by a cam 1.
