809,845. Veterinary appliances. LAING, C. Sept. 25, 1957 [July 13, 1956], No. 21805/56. Class 81 (2). Veterinary nail clippers, of the type in which a cutting blade 1 moves across a hole in a stationary blade 2, has a gauge-plate 13 mounted adjacent to the cutting blade to limit the amount by which the nail can protrude through the hole prior to cutting. The gauge may be mounted on a spring clip for attachment to the handle member 6 and the handle 5 may be pivoted at 7 and may actuate the blade 1 through a link 8. In a modification the gaugeplate carries a receptacle into which severed portions of nail pass after cutting.
